Overview of Immigration medical exams in our clinic
Medicals for Canadian Immigration
The medical for Permanent Residency (Immigrant and Family Class categories) is exactly the same as for other categories: Visitor, Student, Worker, or Refugee. However, the categories differ in how their medical results are evaluated by IRCC. Specifically, Family Class and Refugee applicants are covered by Excessive Demand Exemption (EDE), which means that they cannot be rejected simply because their medical conditions are too expensive to treat. Medicals for Australian tourist visa and immigration
Australia has many visa categories, but from the medical exam point of view, they fall into 3 groups: Temporary stay (up to 6 months), Permanent stay and Health care worker. Although they all get the same physical examination and X-ray, they require different laboratory tests (see lab tests for Australia).
Medicals for New Zealand
Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has 3 kinds of examinations: General Medical Certificate, Limited Medical Certificate and X-ray Certificate. The only way to find out which one you will need is to submit your visa application. Over 90% of our clients end up needing the General Medical Certificate, which is the most extensive. INZ requires a lot of laboratory tests (see lab tests for N. Z.), and their medical requirements are the most stringent of all the countries that we do exams for.
Medical exams for other countries
Some of the other countries that we do medical exams for are: Saudi Arabia, Korea, China, Japan, Singapore, Spain, Belgium, Cayman Islands, Bermuda, Bahrain, Borneo, and even Antarctica. They all require a physical examination and chest X-ray but differ widely in the amount of lab tests and additional investigations they require. How to get a medical exam for any country
